"Take this from me" they said as they got up from the booth, their knee hitting the table spilling a bit of coffee. They stood and did a guarded midlife stretch which appeared compact and stiff. While they headed to the bathroom (name) thought that this felt right. This being not this but "that". Everything from the colors of the sky to the people passing by. Saying hello to familiar faces seems old hat. Turning the key to the door of the place (name) has been living for 20 years felt numbing.

They came back from the bathroom and dropped their full weight on the seat, rattling the booth and spilling more coffee. "You know, I feel good about 'that'. I'm scared, it's unfamiliar and presents as more terrifying because of 'that'. Yet if I walk into that (name of pharmacy) one more time and see (employee of said pharmacy) I think I might vomit a little of these johnnycakes in my mouth. (Name) asking quickly with concern "wait, were you just puking in the bathroom???" They sighed "nope just purging".

We don't belong here anymore. That's ok now. Out with the old and in with the "that". Changing of the guard is our new hat.
